I know that portable furnace saves gas, but how much electricity does it use on average?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Portable Furnace

The furnace is 1500 watt, it heats up 800 sq ft. I would keep it at 70°F and the average temperature for the area outside is around 25° to 35°

Have you used a portable furnace? If so, which one and was it a good purchase?

I don’t mean a portable heater, I mean a portable furnace such as the one from www.portablefurnace.com. I’m thinking about buying one for my sunroom which is super cold most of the year.
Thanks!

Swamp coolers at college greenhouse…in Southeastern Pennsylvania!

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Modine Heaters

Another little volunteer gig of mine, and the guy in charge of the greenhouse let me videotape the various climate control systems used to keep the plants alive. All of the swamp coolers in the video are Adobe Air models (I think that is the name; the company is based in Arizona), and only two of them are operational. The other two are rotted and beyond repair. The two operational units are five years old and were actually in storage at the college until fairly recently

How can unvented propane heaters be allowed and safe for indoor use, but not bedrooms (sleep is only 8 hours)?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Propane Heaters

I keep hearing that unvented propane heaters are unsafe for bedrooms because of carbon monoxide, etc., but why are they OK to use indoors, but just not bedrooms?
P.S. – I have a carbon monoxide detector that plugs into the wall.
